The types of trucks
-
WHAT IS AN ELECTRIC PALLET TRUCK?
A pallet truck is one of the most commonly used lift trucks in industrial companies. It is used for material handling inside warehouses. It is battery powered.
It can be of the walkie or ride-on type - i.e. steered by a tiller or wheel.
The pallet truck offers load shifting, lifting and lowering functions. -
WHAT IS AN ORDER PICKER?
The trucks in the order picker family are used for order picking tasks, i.e. for manual removal by the operator of items from shelves in warehouse lanes, according to customer orders. The picked products are then placed on pallets, previously loaded onto the forks.
Order pickers can be divided into two macro-categories: horizontal, when the operator stand-on platform is kept at ground level, and vertical, when the operator stand-on platform can be lifted, also to considerable heights. -
WHAT IS A WALKIE COUNTERBALANCE TRUCK ?
A counterbalanced stacker performs the same tasks as a stacker with ride-on operator, but with a reduced footprint, lower operating costs, and better handling - which facilitates manoeuvring in tight spaces. No special lift truck operator license is required.
A counterbalanced stacker is the recommended option when a lift truck (e.g. a pallet truck) with base forks cannot be used. -
WHAT IS AN ELECTRIC TOW-TRACTOR?
Electric tow-tractors are industrial vehicles used to tow trailers.
Several trailers can be coupled, for more cost-efficient, flexible material handling.
Fixed or liftable hooks can be used.
